Many baseball lovers are constantly searching for secret batting tips and the best drill demonstrations. Does anyone know the real secret to being a successful baseball hitter? This is a highly debated topic because depending on whom you ask you might get several different answers. In reality most people are not even close to discovering the true secret to being a successful hitter. Regardless of if you hire coaches and enroll in professional drill classes, your ultimate success depends on your mental confidence.

Mental confidence is the missing piece to perfecting your skills and becoming a successful baseball hitter. Your mental game affects 80% or more of your baseball performance. Special classes and elite coaches cannot give you confidence. Believe that you can be successful regardless of where you are. You should not allow other teams or players to interfere with your mental game. One of the most important factors to having a good game is staying focused and keeping your mind on the game.

Batters must focus on trusting their instincts each time they step up to bat. Most players start off wrong because they lack confidence. Do not think about the negative aspects of your game. If you are already thinking negative thoughts regardless of the techniques you have learned you will not be successful. Your special skills and techniques do not matter if you are not confident in yourself.

Each time you step up to bat you want the pitcher to think that you are going to knock the ball out of the park. Occasionally you will have a bad game. Professional and hall of fame baseball players don't hit every ball or win every game but they do not lose their confidence. Real players get right back out there and try again.

As a coach you must make sure that you are focused on helping players build and add to the skills they already have and not just telling them what to do. Do not just be concerned about what they are doing wrong. Discuss what they are doing right and give them tips on how they can improve their overall game. The hitters should not be overly focused on remembering certain tips or making a mistake. Many players are so involved in their thoughts that they do not have a chance to get ready for the ball. As a coach you want to make sure that players are confident about the skills they have learned.

Baseball confidence is crucial in order to be a successful hitter. You start to build your confidence in practice. It is vital that you believe you have the ability to be a good hitter and you must be willing to practice to get better. Be aware that your mental toughness and your willingness to fight are extremely important during any game. All baseball players even professionals ones have bad days where they can't get into the game mentally but the trick is to be resilient and keep going.

Ex-Yankee and Ranger consultant Dr. Tom Hanson GIVES AWAY a powerful mental training exercise to practice generating unstoppable confidence.
